Lisa Gilpin has been buying and selling properties for many years. Her passion for real estate combined with her expertise in dealing with people and a strong financial background make Lisa the ideal choice for any customer or client seeking optimal purchases, rental or sales results. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from Xavier College Preparatory and Grand Canyon College where she earned B.S. degrees in Business Administration and Accounting with a minor in Spanish, in which she is fluent. Before moving to New York City in 1990, she worked as the Controller for International Conference Resorts and its seven wholly-owned subsidiaries. In New York she served as a Tax Consultant to the Ford Foundation and then opened her own accounting business before pursuing a Masters Degree in Social Work at Stony Brook University. She spent several years in private practice as a psychotherapist in New York and Long Island honing her great understanding of people and her ability to tune into their unique needs.
Before settling on Shelter Island in 2004, she spent 14 years splitting her time between Sagaponack and Orient. Currently a resident of Shelter Island with her husband and son, Lisa appreciates the unique beauty of the South Fork, North Fork and Shelter Island. Because she enjoys her home, garden and surroundings so very much, she enjoys helping others secure their dream lifestyle so that they are just as content as she is in her own home. To supplement her real estate activities, she is involved in counseling, has been a past Trustee of her church, and former Trustee and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Oysterponds Historical Society serves as President of the PTSA Board of Shelter Island. She also enjoys cruising and fishing on her Thompson Runabout, playing tennis, snow skiing, gardening, studying piano and Mandarin Chinese with her family. She looks forward to putting her patience, upbeat nature, persistence and professionalism to work for you.
